About Me

Kailey Dietz is a fourth-year student at the University of North Texas College of Liberal Arts & Social Studies, where she is pursuing a BA degree in Communications with a minor in music business. Born in San Antonio, Texas, Kailey discovered her love for music by listening to varying local radio stations throughout her youth. This passion has led Kailey to research music as a powerful, multifaceted tool in society.

As she grew up, Kailey became infatuated with music, pop culture & the rhetorical power of music. Kailey's most recent proposal researches the power of social proof in the context of live music in the queer community and was sent to the Southern States Communication Association Conference in 2023. Kailey continues to use her eclectic music taste in the field of rhetoric and research music business and culture.

In addition to her schooling, Kailey is immersed in spending time with children and giving back to her community. Since the beginning of 2020, Kailey has worked with her neighborhood to create and host events for kids to continue learning and developing healthy habits throughout the pandemic. With her strong ties to her community, Kailey has been given a unique opportunity to apply her knowledge and experience to coordinate events with A Cut Above Event Planning on varying scales, from intimate parties to large-scale weddings.

Upon completing her BA degree at the University of North Texas, Kailey intends to jumpstart her career in music management and manage local talent in the San Antonio area while interning as a project manager at iHeartRadio. Kailey wishes to create a portfolio of musicians she manages and hopes to remain managing for independent artists. In her free time, Kailey enjoys crafting, baking, and spending time with her dog, Cody Squidward.
